The Revolutionary War
The Revoltuionary War was the war fought to declare our nation's independence from Britain. Although the war was a big success on the American side, it wasn't all glory. There were very many harships that were faced when being the common American soldier. There was a shortage in just about everything you can think of. Most necessities to live were not at hand. Things such as money, weapons, food, clothing, clean water, and shelter were scarce and hard to get your hands on. There was very little sanitation, and disease was easy to come by.
Think about what you would do if you had to live as a soldier during the Revolutionary War. Most people living in the present would be overly disgusted at the sight of the living quaters, complaining about being cold, hungry, and thirsty, and would probably just give up hope. However, the actual soldiers never gave up hope. They never complained. They never stopped thinking about their country and what they were fighting for. When things were going downhill, they always found something to make them hope again. This hope was a big factor to the winning of the war. Without this dedication, we may not be where we are today in America.
